A taxi will be a great way to get from airport to dock!
Southampton Airport is actually in Eastleigh and about 5 miles from the Cruise Terminal. I suggest you look into the possibility of leaving the car near the Cruise Terminal. If you can’t do that then get the train from the airport to Southampton Central station and a taxi from there to the terminal.

If you are flying into Southampton I assume you are travelling from a distance.
The airport is a nice small one and as soon as you come out of the arrivals terminal you can either get a taxi or turn left cross the road and you are on the train station, one stop further down and in southampton centre. This is then less than a mile from the ship.
There is also a local bus, but not sure if it is easy to get to the cruise terminal from there.
