Paro Takeoff & Landing – 737 Cockpit Flight (Home Simulator)

25 Comments 05 May 2012

Paro International Airport is one of the most challenging airports in the world, located deep within the Himalayas at an altitude of 7300ft above sea level, and with a runway measuring only 6450×100ft. Come along for a takeoff from runway 33, followed by the visual approach and landing on runway 15, which is an approach that makes Kai Tak, Toncontin, and other famous challenging arrivals look like child’s play! Enjoy!

KLM Boeing B747-400 Landing at Curacao Cockpit view

24 Comments 02 May 2012

Landing at Curacao Hato airport as seen from cockpit B747-400. Watch the shadow of the plane growing larger! For all those wandering why we landed before displaced threshold: The displaced threshold at this airport is necessary to clear the visable ridges on a IMC approach(that is when in clouds) at the legal altitudes . But when you are VFR(that is when you are visual with the runway), there is no objection, once you are clear of the last ridge to steepen your approach a little bit and land before the displaced threshold. One is then able to make the turnoff as in this video, saving the company some taxi fuel and engine running time. And yes, officially it is not allowed.

ONBOARD Emergency Landing! Delta Connection CRJ-200 in Akron-Canton (Landing Gear)

25 Comments 01 May 2012

On approach into the Akron-Canton Regional Airport. the pilot announced that there was an indication problem for the front landing gear in the cockpit, meaning that the gear did not extend properly or was vulnerable to collapse. The initial flyover of the airport was probably for the ground crews and ATC to check if the gear was down; apparently it was. The landing was perfect and I thought that the pilots, cabin crew, and Akron ground crews did an excellent job of handling the situation. This flight originated from Atlanta Hartsfield Int’l Airport. I’m glad to have been to record the entire emergency situation briefing from the cockpit This was the most exciting flight I’ve ever been on!

HD Twilight Landing At LAX (Cockpit View)

24 Comments 18 February 2012

A very colorful and unique perspective of the city lights from the cockpit of a commercial jet as it makes some final turns before landing at LAX. The song is Los Angeles by Sugarcult. Very special thanks to surfbumhnl who created this amazing video. The Sadde Six Arrival is from the northwest into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The downwind leg is entered over the Santa Monica (SMO) VOR and roughly follows the 10 freeway. The base leg turn is made along the 710, and final approach into runway 24R parallels the 105. Initial altitude is 10000 feet and the runway elevation is approximately 125 feet.
