Traffic congestion in Edwardian London. Made over 100 years ago, this footage shows a number of scenes shot around central London, taking in locations such as Hyde Park Corner, Parliament Square and Charing Cross Station. We see crowds of people disembarking from a pleasure steamer at Victoria Embankment, pedestrians dodging horse-drawn carriages in Pall Mall and heavy traffic trotting down the Strand. There are plenty of famous landmarks to spot here, including Big Ben, the National Gallery and the Bank of England, and it is fascinating to see the similarities between the customs of then and now – the dense traffic (mainly horse-drawn, with the occasional motor car) is highly reminiscent of today’s London rush hour, while advertising on public transport is clearly no new phenomenon – in one scene, an advert for Nestl’s Milk seems to be plastered on every other vehicle.
Hi. Im travelling to London on the 20th from Venezuela. I arrive at Frankfurts Airport fist and I was told I needed to take a train or shuffle bus to one of the Terminals to check in and take next flight to London. I know there are two Terminals, but which should I go to and how do I get there?
Thanks
I’m international student. I’ll go back to Vietnam on next month. I’ll fly out from SF airport, but I don’t know how to get there from Oakland amtrak station. I think about taking BART at Richmond but I have 3 big luggage. I checked on internet and I see there are many airport shuttles bus to SF airport. Should I use it? If so, which bus should I make a reservation with? Thank you.
Can it be, for example, a C-Class of Mercedes-Benz?
