Why is there double security at Istanbul Ataturk airport?
You go through two sets of security checks, one as soon as you come in and another as you head to your departure gate.
I have never seen this in any other airport, not even in other countries which are either vulnerable to terrorism or surrounded by unruly neighbours.

Hi there … I would like to know if I can bring something to drink and eat on the plane with me after I get through airport security. Is this possible ? My flight averages 4 hours.
